Chapter V.- WireLess Deployer Console

1 Packages

On the "Packages" window you can see the application and the configuration packages added to the console (the packages that are on the console may not be on the clients):

 

"Applications" and "Configuration" sections have the following information about the packages:

On the left side of the window you can see:

  • Delete button: Deletes a package from the console, if it's not associated with any collection.

  • Collections button: Opens a list of all the collections that contain the selected package, where eventually you can click on one to see more details.

  • Configure Package button: Edits the configuration files (see Configure packages).

  • Package section: Displays information about the package, such as the ID, version and file name. [NEW VERSION] button allows to create a new version of the package (see Create a new version of a package).

  • Attributes section: Displays information about the package such as the name, description and platform. All this information can be modified with [EDIT] button. [APPLY] button applies the changes made to the package.

 


2 Collections

A collection is a group of packages to install on the mobile unit/s. All the available collections are displayed on "Collection" window:

 

Each collection has the following information:

On the left side of the window you can see:

  • Collection ID. 

  • Delete button: Deletes a collection.

  • New button: Dreates a new collection.

  • Name field: Name of the collection.

  • Description field: Description of the collection.

  • Formula List: Displays the formulas associated to the collection.

  • Install List: Packages to install on the mobile unit/s.

  • Uninstall List: Packages to uninstall from the mobile unit/s (see Uninstall packages from the client).

  • To Uninstall list button: Moves a package from "Install List" towards "Uninstall List".

  • To Install list button: Moves a package from "Uninstall List" towards "Install List".

  • Edit button: Allows to edit the name and the description.

  • Apply button: Applies the changes made to the collection.

  • Cancel button: Cancels the editing process.

  • Package Details button: Shows details about a specific package of the collection.

  • Validity schedule details: displays current status (active/inactive) and validity period of a collection.

 


3 Units

On "Units" window you can see all the mobile units that have connected at least once:

Each mobile unit has the following information (see Appendix A.- Files and folders):

Each column may be used as a sorting criteria by clicking on it's name. If the mobile units are sorted using one criteria and then another one is selected, the previous order is maintained as a secondary criteria. This is useful for finding a group of mobile units with similar characteristics (see Sorting Mobile Units according to an Arbitrary Criteria).
