1 Starting

To install the Client program into the terminal you should install the NVM loader in a PC from the Web Site. (See Installing from WebSite section and DOS client and NVM Program Loader).

2 Connecting

You will need to connect the PC (usually COM1:) to a PDT Cradle or directly to a PDT, through a serial cable.
See the NvmHex - Help for connection details and figures.

3 Loading

Launch the NVM loader from the Desktop shortcut (then open the ".hex" files).

The complete Client configuration needs two NVM downloads and is made in the following steps.

  1. Erase the NVM and download the RF drivers NVM (select WS11_XXX.hex for 11Mb DS PDTxx46 OR WS12_XXX.hex for 2Mb FH PDTxx42).
  2. Launch the program by BiosBoot to install drivers in FLASH memory from NVM. At the question "format flash" answer Y.
  3. Erase the NVM and download the WS Client NVM (the same for all terminal clients).
  4. Launch the program by BiosBoot.

When you start NvmHex, the default file to load is the Client version included with the WireLess Studio package. If you have a newer version to load, select the file to load from the "open" button in the NvmHex program.

Click in the "?" (text) help button of NvmHex to get instructions to set the terminal in load mode, download the program and boots.

4 Configuring

When the program is loaded on the terminal, you will need to configure the TCP/IP protocol (See Network configuration / DOS Client) and the Host IP address (See User's Guide, DOS Client, Starting / Configuring)
